In today’s video thanks to a local Victoria electric scooter owner I was able to review the Apollo Ghost! Very special thank you to Mark, the Ghost’s owner and to Michael for filming the review.
I learned so much about the Ghost while riding it around. The twin 800 watt motors were perfectly able to get me around town and when I did venture into trying out the higher speed levels I found the Apollo Ghost easy to manage and not to aggressive. Mark is delighted with his purchase and has no issues with the Apollo Ghost so far. I liked the ride quality especially when encountering bumps…nice and bouncy. I found it was super easy to ride along the trails in my local park and the battery was plenty big enough for our review ride. I especially liked the folding handlebars so much so that I think I might order a replacement for my Varla Eagle One as it would make storage and popping it in the trunk easier to manage. The brakes are mechanical rather than hydraulic which is fine if you’re not a speed demon or need super strong brakes…I still would recommend hydraulic brakes but for the casual rider/commuter it’s probably not necessary.
On the downside, even though riding in the rain isn’t a good idea with any electric scooters that I’ve reviewed, the mud guards on the Ghost aren’t particularly good. In fact if you do get caught in the rain, you’re going to get soaked in the front and the back if you don’t add some after market fenders like Mark did. He also added lights to the stem because the Ghost’s night lights aren’t very bright…an easy fix but I do need to mention it.
Bottom line I like the Ghost a lot, it’s a little bit lighter than my Varla, doesn’t have the same power but it’s still a Scream (pun intended) 🙂 and I’m looking forward to reviewing other Apollos in the future.
